Bart’s Bards is thrilled to announce auditions for our 2026 production, Oliver!, directed by Tom Peters!

The award-winning musical adaptation of the classic Dickens novel springs to life with some of the most memorable characters and songs ever to grace the stage. Ages 6 and up invited to audition. Click here to view the character breakdown.

audition preparation

In addition to signing up for an audition slot, please fill out our online Audition Form ahead of time to keep auditions moving efficiently.

Please review the “What to Prepare” dropdown for Audition resources, including sides and the dance audition tutorial.

  1. Check in and confirm audition form has been submitted.
  2. Photo taken to aid audition panel in casting.
  3. Escorted to waiting room. During your wait time, you are invited to prepare for the dance audition with our choreographer/representative.
  4. You will be called individually to audition sing, and maybe do some vocalizing, read from the script, and/or answer questions about your theatre experience.
  5. At the end of the hour, you will be called back to the audition room to dance with a group of auditioners.

NOTE: The entire audition process may take up to one hour to complete if you have reserved an audition time via this signup genius. If you are a walk-in without a signup time, it may take significantly longer, depending on time of arrival and available time slots.

Singing Preparation:

  • 16-32 measures of a theatre song. Bring your own accompaniment (a speaker will be available at auditions). A cappella auditions will not be accepted.
  • Please bring your theatre resume if applicable.

Reading Preparation:

Dance Preparation:

After being offered a role, you must respond with your acceptance no later than 5:00 PM on February 22, or the role may be given to someone else. The cast list will be announced (website/email/Facebook) to the public by the evening of February 27.

Those who are not cast in a named role may be invited to join the ensemble.

If you have participated in a Bart’s Bards activity within the last five years and you would like to be in the ensemble, you do not have to audition. Simply email Ron Mason, Co-Producer, at bardsoliver@gmail.com.
